Pensions in Alberta: The Road Ahead

Please join us on Thursday December 15th, 2016 at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel, 133 – 9 Ave. SW Calgary.

This is an afternoon session from 3:30 to 4:45 pm followed by a cocktail reception

Nilam Jetha is the Assistant Deputy Minister, Financial Sector Regulation and Policy and Superintendent of Pensions, Insurance and Financial Institutions and Paul Owens is the Deputy Superintendent of Pensions in Alberta. Alberta, together with BC Pensions have charted a new path for pensions in Canada. The harmonization of Alberta and BC Pensions helps plan sponsors operating in both provinces govern their pension plans more effectively to the benefit of both plan members and plan sponsors. This western pension model may serve as a small step towards a day when all Canadian provinces share a common model. Nilam and Paul will share their thoughts on the current state of pensions in Alberta and what they envision for the road ahead.

Who should attend:
• Human resource, finance and decision makers that would like to know more about pensions in Alberta;
• Anyone that sits on a committee that has responsibility for their company’s pension;
• Industry professionals that work with pensions

Please join us after this session for a special cocktail reception with Nilam and Paul.
