Bridging Care and Coverage: A physician’s view on Technology, Trust, and the Future of Health Care

Bridging Care and Coverage: A physician’s view on Technology, Trust, and the Future of Health Care

September 12, 2025 12:00 PM to 1:00 PMOnline Pacific Time
Area of Interest: Benefits Format: Web

An online seminar hosted by CPBI Pacific, Southern Alberta, Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan Regions.

As Canada grapples with a critical shortage of primary care physicians, digital solutions are stepping in to fill the gap—but not without raising new questions. In this session, Dr. Kathleen Ross will explore how virtual health care and artificial intelligence are transforming the delivery of care and how soon these tools could become standard practice. We’ll examine both the promise and the pitfalls of health care A.I., including ethical concerns, the current lack of regulation, and the Canadian Medical Association’s positions on public and private policy.

The session will also explore how private group benefit plans are evolving to support better access to care, especially in underserved communities, and how trust between patients and third-party insurers plays a crucial role in adoption. What do physicians truly need to serve patients effectively—and how can benefits help bridge the gap between public coverage and real-world needs?

Join us for an insightful conversation about where we are now, where we’re headed, and what it will take to build an ethical, equitable, and trusted future for care, technology, and benefits.
