Why Psychological Health & Safety (PH&S) Matters for Benefit Plans

Why Psychological Health & Safety (PH&S) Matters for Benefit Plans

November 20, 2025 12:00 PM to 1:00 PMOnline
Area of Interest: Pensions, Benefits, Networking Format: Web

Benefit plans can go beyond traditional medical coverage by offering specialized services

that address the mental and emotional well-being of employees, not just their physical

health. This is particularly important in Alberta, where employers have a legal duty to protect

the physical, psychological, and social safety of their workforce.

How to leverage psychological health & safety as a value-add service:

● Understand the Legal Responsibility

● Consider the Potential Opportunities for a Benefits Plan's Role

● What this can look like

● The Positive Outcomes

"By addressing psychosocial factors, we empower employees to actively participate in their well-being journey. Comprehensive health benefits then serve as a vital

foundation, supporting both ongoing health and preventative care." Megan K. Hunter
