Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), is it really good for everyone?

Please join us for lunch on Thursday May 21, 2015 at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel, 133 – 9 Ave. SW Calgary.

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) refers to the three main areas of concern that have developed as central factors in measuring the sustainability and impact of an investment in a company or business. In 2014, the Ontario Investment Regulations were amended requiring Ontario registered plans to disclose in their Statement of Investment Policies and Procedures whether, and if so, how, environmental, social and governance factors are incorporated in their investment selection. While relatively new to Canada, Ontario follows the UK, Germany, France, South Africa, Australia and others that have mandated ESG be looked at. Ontario will not be the last.

Please join us for this session as we explore what ESG is, what it isn’t, how ESG investments can be selected and what you need to know as a plan sponsor on this important and emerging topic.
