Dianne Tamburro

Senior Consultant

Eckler

Dianne joined Eckler over 2 years ago and  is a Senior Consultant in Eckler’s investment consulting practice, in Toronto. She has 23 years of industry experience with most of her career spent working at consulting firms ranging from large multi-nationals to a small boutique firm. She also brings four years  of experience conducting investment manager research and due diligence at a major insurance company.
Today, she consults to clients of all sizes with defined contribution or defined benefit plans, working with clients in a variety of areas, ranging from governance, to investments, to record keeper selection and plan design. In addition to consulting responsibilities, Dianne leads Eckler’s record keeper research and due diligence processes.
Dianne graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree with Majors in Actuarial Science and Economics and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. She is a member of the CFA Society in Toronto.

   
  


 
Laura Strachan

Consulting Actuary

Eckler

Laura is consulting actuary with Eckler’s pension and group actuarial practices. She has 14 years of experience and joined Eckler in 2016 after working with a similar-size firm in the United Kingdom (U.K.). Her expertise includes pension and post-employment benefit plan valuations, plan design and administration, as well as accounting for both pension plans and group benefit plans.

Laura currently works with clients in a variety of industries, including not-for-profit organizations, manufacturing and financial services. For the past year she has been working with Bonnie-Jeanne MacDonald (Director of Financial Security Research at the National Institute on Ageing (NIA), Ryerson University (Toronto), and Eckler’s resident scholar) and Barbara Sanders (Associate Professor Simon Fraser University) on a study of VPLAs and how they can change retirement income delivery in Canada.

Laura holds a first class MSci degree in mathematics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and originally qualified as an actuary in the U.K.  She is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries as well as the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries in the U.K.
