The Canadian fixed income space has entered a new environment as the post-crisis environment, defined by sluggish global growth, may last for the foreseeable future. In the light of this new reality, investment committees should consider revisiting their “investment belief system”, and contemplate an active fixed income management approach in order to generate material excess, risk-adjusted returns in a low-return environment.

Join us for this webinar on March 27, where Carlo DiLalla, Vice-President Institutional Advisory Group – Fixed Income, CIBC Asset Management will discuss current market efficiency and the opportunity for available inefficiencies that active managers can systematically exploit to add value.

In this session you will:
  • Gain an historical perspective of Canadian fixed income manager performance and how it has influenced investment beliefs;
  • Learn about the current market environment and its impact on interest rates as well as what can be expected in the future;
  • Explore some of the structural inefficiencies in the Canadian fixed income market that skilled portfolio managers can exploit;
  • Discover what fixed income strategies are available to institutional investors to address current market conditions.
