Show Me the Money: Rewards in a Changing Environment

In this session, Carolyn Kildare from Mercer will share insights from Mercer’s global and local research on compensation and rewards trends. We will touch on the key findings from Mercer’s Global Talent Trends study, delve into what’s on employee’s minds, and consider trends in total rewards and compensation.

Carolyn Kildare - Senior Compensation Consultant, Mercer Rewards Team

Carolyn Kildare is a Senior Compensation Consultant in Mercer’s broad-based Rewards Team in Calgary. She has been with Mercer for 12 years.

Prior to joining Mercer’s Rewards consulting team in 2018, Carolyn was responsible for managing several of Mercer’s industry-specific compensation surveys. She led the Mercer Total Compensation Survey for the Energy Sector (MTCS) from 2010-2018, the Mining Industry survey and a BC-based high technology industry association survey.

As a rewards specialist, Carolyn leverages her extensive survey knowledge and client management skills to design and deliver meaningful insights for all levels of an organization’s workforce, from executive suite to operational staff. She has led significant projects in compensation system development, compensation strategy, compensation policy, job evaluation, custom surveys, and market benchmarking for organizations in energy, mining, insurance, not-for-profit/industry associations, crown corporations, and consumer goods.

Carolyn is currently serving as Secretary for the Calgary Total Rewards Network (CTRN) Board of Directors. She has an MBA in general management from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.


Peter has been a Senior Pharmacy Consultant with The Co-operators since September 2019.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from The University of Saskatchewan in 1999 and completed his Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency 2002.

Peter has 21 years of experience in pharmacy and during that time he has been a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents. He has also spent time teaching nursing and medical students about prescription drugs.

Peter started his career as a compounding pharmacist in Saskatoon SK and Moncton NB while in school and then for 3 years after graduating. In 2002, he completed a one year Residency in Hospital Pharmacy in Regina and then worked for the Saskatchewan Health Authority for a total of 10 years as a pharmacist specializing in anemia management in Chronic Kidney Disease and Gastroenterology Disease while also working in Hemodialysis, Kidney Transplant Clinic, Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care, Cardiac Care, and other areas of the hospital.

In 2012, Peter became a partner in Rubicon Pharmacies where he operated Pioneer Village Pharmacy and created Rubicon Health Solutions.

Eight years later upon the sale of Rubicon Pharmacies, Peter joined Cooperators as a Senior Pharmacy Consultant.
