The Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare is expected to release its report later this year.  In this report, we anticipate recommendations for the implementation of a national pharmacare program here in Canada.  Canadians hold many different viewpoints on national pharmacare, including whether a national program is warranted, the role of private insurers, the medications included in the program, and who the primary payors should be.  In this presentation, we'll discuss the current state of pharmacare in Canada, impacts to stakeholder groups, and benefits and challenges with implementing a national pharmacare program.
