The opportunity:

The position of Pension Specialist aids the Director, Pension Office (Director) with executing tasks related to Pension Committees support, service provider support, file retention, and internal and external formal communication. The incumbent requires excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines. The incumbent is self-motivated, able to work independently, and work co-operatively with others as part of a team. Managing confidential information, and exercising professionalism, discretion, diplomacy, tact and good judgment is mandatory. Working knowledge of web-based collaborative platforms is essential to this position.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

Completion of a University Degree program or equivalent, related to business administration or communications.  The incumbent must have at least two years in related experience. Three years of experience working with preparation of agendas and minutes, file retention and utilizing internet/web-based technology to strategically coordinate tasks and communicate in the workplace preferred. The incumbent must demonstrate progressive experience in support of project management, communications, and policy research. The ability to communicate well in English effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing, is essential.

The incumbent must be able to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders including co-workers, Pension Committee members, senior administrators, and service providers in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment.

Work experience in pension plan administration and management is desirable.

Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office is essential in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of web-based collaborative platforms are essential to this position.

The incumbent must be capable of critical thinking and reasoning to identify solutions to complex issues.

This position requires a high energy level, and extra effort is required for all activities, small or large.
