An exciting leadership role exists for a total rewards professional looking to help amplify the work of a dedicated team of experts, within one of BC’s premier Crown corporations. Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, the Director, Total Rewards and People Technology is responsible for development and implementation of WorkSafeBC’s total rewards programs and people technology systems including the direction of the Total Rewards and People Technology team within the People and Culture Division. As a member of the Divisional management team, the Director provides leadership and direction to ensure the effective delivery of Total Rewards and People Technology services including the implementation of pension and total reward strategies, business plans and policies and the delivery of customer focused service. The Director will be the key conduit between WorkSafeBC and the provincial government when it comes to compensation alignment and will work with the Head of People & Culture on liaising with the Board and Committee on key factors of the portfolio. With a focus on ensuring WorkSafeBC is an attractive and top-tier employer through its creative and thoughtful total rewards program, the Director is responsible for development of programs and services to meet organizational strategic goals.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and progressive total rewards professional with a deep desire to use analytical skills to support theory, policies, and best practices as they relate to total rewards. With a strong understanding of interpretation and application in real-world settings, the Director, Total Rewards & People Technology has an ability to influence and affect meaningful change alongside a well-developed adaptive style working with others. Bringing a depth of experience working at a management or senior level position aligning compensation best practices, the Director will value teamwork, positive relationships, and working collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals in a large and complex, unionized environment.
The targeted salary range for this position is $170,000-190,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
Requirements:
Significant experience in progressive leadership roles,
within a large, complex unionized environment.
• University degree in business administration or a human
resources-related field, plus achievement of Certified
HR Professional (CPHR) and/or Certified Compensation
Professional (CCP) designation and/or Certified Payroll
Manager (CPM) designation, or an equivalent combination
of education and experience.
• Specialized knowledge of compensation theories and
practices with expertise in salary administration, benefits,
pension, and job evaluation, supplemented by a solid
understanding of Human Resources Management.
