Member Services Specialist (5495)
Job Posting
Member Services Specialist
Organization:
Civil Service Superannuation Board
Province:
Manitoba
Location:
Winnipeg
Description:
At the Civil Service Superannuation Board (CSSB), our pension plan members and their future are at the heart of everything we do. With $9.7 billion in assets and 52,000 members, we’re kind of a big deal here in Manitoba! To stay this way, we need exceptional employees who want to make a difference and are willing to learn.
The Role
This isn’t your typical member services role. You won’t work in a call centre. There is no script to follow. You don’t need to sell anything. And people are generally happy to talk to you!
You’ll give plan members timely, accurate, and clear information so they can make informed decisions about their pensions.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to member questions about their pension or insurance benefits
- Reviewing options available to members experiencing certain life events (e.g., retirement, termination, death, divorce/separation, leave of absence) and helping with necessary documents
- Preparing pension estimates for different scenarios and checking for accuracy
- Delivering presentations to help members understand their pensions
- Improving communication tools and methods for members
Member meetings are by phone, virtually, and in-office. Occasionally our team travels to Manitoba communities outside Winnipeg.
The salary for the successful candidate will range from $60,579 to $86,717.
Requirements:
What You Need
- Experience in pension administration, benefit or insurance administration, or financial services
- Experience in a member or customer service role
- Positive attitude and passion for learning
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including tact and discretion when addressing sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows
- Completion of the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and/or Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) programs would be an asset
If your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement in this posting, but you’re excited about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
