The Opportunity

PEBA is seeking a highly-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to lead policy development and refine existing policies as it relates to pension plan provisions. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Governance, the Manager of Policy and Research will be responsible for:

  • developing and coaching a high-performing team that strives for excellence;
  • identifying, researching and analyzing complex pension plan issues;
  • developing and presenting options and recommendations to senior management, and pension boards; and
  • leading the execution of strategic initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required to manage projects, collaborate, build consensus, and lead change. 

You will: 

  • Be team player with a reputation for integrity and a focus on service excellence and innovation; and
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills to develop briefings/reports and present issues to senior government officials.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a combination of: 

  • post-graduate degree in public policy, economics, administration, or a related discipline; and
  • several years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
