At HEB Manitoba, our Benefits & Administration department takes a supportive and proactive approach to providing industry-leading service to our members.
Reporting to the Manager, Member Services, the Benefits Specialist (1 year term) will be a key member of a dedicated team committed to providing service excellence in the administration of our various benefit plans.

Your exciting journey:
Within the first three months, you will:
- Enhance your knowledge about HEB Manitoba by learning about our benefit plans.
- Become familiar with HEB Manitoba’s internal software systems.
- Learn to navigate our system for processing benefits within and outside of HEB.
- Begin to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will increase to include:
- Providing effective service to employers and members by delivering timely and accurate information in response to benefit related questions and requests.
- Communicating with our members and stakeholders via phone, email, written correspondence and in person.
- Coordinating and delivering group benefits seminars both on and off site.
- Analyzing and making decisions regarding escalated requests for benefit enrolments and changes.

Requirements:
Qualifications for Your Success:
Experience & Education
- Completion of a related post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate.
- Five plus years of experience within a benefits administration environment including Waiver of Premium processes.
- Completion of the Group Benefits Associate (GBA) and working towards Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.

- Exceptional business communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and capabilities.
- Ability to apply critical thinking in analysis and decision making.
- A professional member service approach that is proactive and personalized.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
