Position Summary: 

Reporting to the National Specialty Leader, the Employee Benefits Sr. Account Executive promotes JLT as a professional Brokerage firm and produces revenue by acquiring new business, servicing clients, and retaining/ renewing business on behalf of JLT.  This role is also responsible for reviewing the regional Employee Benefits budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Solicits, develops and produces new accounts through prospecting, presentation and closing. May work one-on-one with prospects or be a team member assigned for proposals on large prospects.
  • Maintains and services accounts ensuring client needs are met by reviewing cover needs, negotiating renewals, answering inquiries and co-ordinating the efforts of appropriate JLT staff.
  • Capitalizes on client referrals and policy penetration opportunities that support annual activity targets.
  • Prepares marketing specs and proposals for the benefit programs identifying all contract deviations and details.
  • Prepares a summary of information for the client along with memo’s and communication material.
  • Responsible to meet the organizations goal with respect to cash management and receivables.
  • Assists Account Representatives and processing support staff with client or account queries to ensure timely issuance of documentation and proper client servicing.
  • Develops rapport, entertains clients and attends client or industry social functions to ensure retention of accounts and to obtain leads.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure client services align to company mandate and client deliverables are achieved.
  • As a company leader, create information sharing and development environment within the Client Accounts teams.
  • Provides input for support staff / account team during performance evaluations.
  • Ensures professional competence and keeps apprised of changes within the industry by maintaining internal and external contacts, attending relevant seminars and reviewing written industry material.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with insurers, to reach end goal of retaining mutual clients and develop effective processes.
  • Assists with claims concerns and works as a liaison with the insurance company and the clients as required.
  • Assists Claims and Finance Departments in their dealings with clients as required.
  • Follows JLT policies and procedures, including compliance, privacy and client security procedures, as set out on the Company Intranet and as amended from time to time.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Group Benefits division.
  • CEBS preferred for Group Benefits Division.
  • Broad knowledge of all classes of insurance and detailed knowledge of specialty class.
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple files simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Knowledge of PowerPoint an asset.
  • Life and AD&D provincial licence mandatory.
  • Out-of-province licences may also be required.
  • Ability to travel locally and within province to visit clients as required.
  • Out-of-province or out-of-country travel may also be required.
