We are looking for a talented and hardworking Pension Administrator to join our dedicated team of consultants at our Winnipeg office. Job responsibilities:

  • Prepare termination, retirement and death benefit packages for members of pension plans
  • Prepare plan member disclosure statements
  • Calculate Pension Adjustments (PAs), Pension Adjustment Reversals (PARs), and Past Service Pension Adjustments (PSPAs)
  • Prepare authorization of benefit payments
  • Complete government filings, such as Annual Information Returns (AIRs)
  • Review and analyze membership data
  • Maintain and update pension plan databases with member information
  • Reconcile contributions to, and payments from, pension funds
  • Liaise with fund custodian for payment authorizations and stop payments on death of member
  • Provide call and email support to client employers and pension plan members
  • Adhere to quality standards and best practices
  • Learn plan provisions and administration policies for assigned clients
  • Stay current with relevant laws and rules concerning pensions across Canada
  • Consult with clients on all matters of administration, including interpretation and best practices

What you offer:

  • A strong mathematics aptitude or focus (comfort handling numerical data)
  • Process and detail-oriented with a keenness to accuracy on data entry and calculations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, including use of various Excel functions and Word merge
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of pension legislation
  • 2+ years of pension administration experience
  • Willingness to take ownership of assigned clients, setting and meeting required deadlines

  • Fluency in French
  • Willingness to spearhead and drive team initiatives
  • RPA/CEBS or PPAC designation
  • Basic or introductory programming skills (e.g., Access or SQL queries, experience in VBA)
  • A degree or diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, or General Science
  • Experience with streamlining or automating processes
  • Familiarity with actuarial concepts through experience or coursework, or having written actuarial exams
