The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is inviting applications for a disability case consultant for the Income Continuance Plan, a self-administered long-term disability plan for teachers that provides a monthly disability income to members, along with rehabilitative services that support the recovery process and re-entry to active employment. This is a term position for approximately one year beginning August 1, 2017.

The disability case consultant will provide general case management of disability claims, as well as assessment and management of complex disability claims, including coordination of services of outside agencies; motivate and assist clients in formulating realistic vocational goals; and provide support and counselling to enhance the vocational process for teachers who are the primary members of this plan.

The successful applicant will have an undergraduate degree in rehabilitation case management, health sciences, social work or related field, combined with 4-6 years of related experience. A professional designation in disability management or rehabilitation field is an asset. Demonstrated computer proficiency in automated disability management systems and Microsoft Word is also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

This position requires travel within Saskatchewan. The incumbent must have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and must be able to provide own transportation for Federation business travel.
