What Every Plan Sponsor and Member Should Understand About Retirement

In this Session...

Barry LaValley will help attendees understand the key issues that Plan Members face as they look at their retirement; he will also focus on critical ways that Sponsors can help ease that transition and take the stress out of the retirement decision.

His work with scores of "pretirees" and retirees globally suggests that many workers are ill-prepared to consider their retirement options, both from a financial and a lifestyle perspective. This uncertainty often affects their relationship with their workplace and impacts on productivity and overall life satisfaction. Barry will address these issues in his session and offer some concrete advice on how employers can provide education that goes beyond financial information. Not only will this help Plan Members but impact employee decisions around Plan enrollment.

Speaker

Barry LaValley is President, The Retirement Lifestyle Centre and a leading retirement lifestyle educator in North America. He works with both financial advisors and their clients to help them understand the non-financial aspects of this next phase of life, one that he calls “ Your Second Life”. Included in his work is a model to help people make the retirement transition.

Barry focuses on the psychological aspects of retirement and those life issues that directly relate to the financial decisions that clients must consider. His formal education was in the field of psychology and he has combined that knowledge with over thirty-five years in the North American Financial Services industry.
