Today’s workforce is evolving at a speed that employers can’t keep up. With so many different generations in the workforce, it’s hard to please everyone. Millennials make up a huge chunk of today’s workforce and their needs are completely different than those of the babyboomers, or even generation X.

Our panel discussion will look at what Millennials face in their everyday work life as well as the issues that employers face in trying to meet their needs, while working together to come to an understanding and continue to meet company targets with corresponding tight budgets.

Jessica Moorhouse

Jessica Moorhouse is a millennial money expert, Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada®, speaker, host of the Mo’ Money Podcast, and founder of the Millennial Money Meetup®. She is also a regular guest on CTV’s Mind the Gap and can often be found featured in major publications like Yahoo Finance, VICE, MarketWatch, Huffington Post, and CBC News.

Erin Pederson

Erin is the Senior Benefits Advisor for Strathcona County. She was previously with the Government of Alberta working in the Public Service Commission as the Director of Pension and Benefits Policy. Her previous experience includes working for the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) as the Benefits Manager, and she got her start in benefits by holding administrative and underwriting roles at Saskatchewan Blue Cross. Erin has Bachelor’s Degree, holds the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation, and is a member of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute.

Kelly Carter

Kelly was born in Montreal, QC and moved to Kitchener, ON at the age of twelve. She began working in the insurance world at Crawford Class Actions, focusing on the residential school settlement and moved onto the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan working in the health and dental benefits department as a bilingual customer service rep. In November of 2018 she made the move to Edmonton to work with AUMA as the assistant to Pensions and Benefits. After a few great months experiencing the world of pensions and benefits she made the move to the benefits department as a benefit service consultant.

Greg Heise

Greg has worked in the pension and investment fields for 27 years with a diverse group of clients, including multi-employer and jointly-trusteed pension plans, various non-pension trusts and large national and international corporations. He is passionate about the intersection between retirement security and social/environmental issues.

Greg graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Honours Actuarial Science and a minor in Statistics.
