Tania Alfonsi
Legal Advisor, Group Benefits and Retirement Solutions Legislation

Tania Alfonsi joined Manulife in 2013. She has worked in various roles in Compliance and Legal, managing compliance risk, legal risk, and overall governance. As Legal Advisor for the Group Benefits and Retirement Solutions Legislation team, Tania leads the monitoring of legislation, including analysis, implementation and communication of legislation changes. She is a major contributor to the Manulife newsletter Legislation Matters, and has participated in various strategic institutional projects as the lead legal and compliance resource.

Tania received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Concordia in 2000. In 2005, she received a Bachelor of Law degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sherbrooke. Tania has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2007.

Ralph Castelli Director, Group Benefits and Retirement Solutions Legislation

Ralph Castelli joined Manulife in 1975 and has held a variety of management and consulting roles. As Director, Group Benefits and Retirement Solutions Legislation, Ralph helps to ensure the proper compliance and governance of Manulife products and services related to group retirement and group benefits. He represents Manulife on various industry committees including the tactical and strategic positioning of Manulife and industry related to various government initiatives.

Ralph has a degree in Business Administration from Concordia University and is a former chair and executive member of the LOMA Group Benefits and Retirement Services Education Section Committee. He is also a past co-chair and executive member of the Committee on Group Retirement Plans of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association.
