Changes & Trends in Employment Law: Avoiding the Pitfalls

Times are changing for employees, and employers, in British Columbia.  Recent to the BC Employment Standards Act and Labour Relations Code require immediate attention by employers, even if some of the changes in question do not appear to impact their day-to-day business. Attend this session to learn about these important changes, as well as how to avoid some of the most common HR mistakes that can lead to significant and unexpected liabilities.

Course objective

This session will cover:

Important Developments and Trends in Labour and Employment Law:
•Legislative Changes – What all employers need to know.
•What we have seen so far, and what we can learn from the past.

Top Five Potential Pitfalls:
•Identifying and avoiding common (and costly) HR mistakes.
•How to fix mistakes already made.

This session will provide particularly useful information for small to mid-size employers, HR leaders and advisors, managers, supervisors and benefit consultants.

Maximum capacity: 18 attendees
