Overall Responsibilities:

To provide technical and analytical support and expertise to various areas within the Total Rewards department.

To support the day to day administration and management of ArcelorMittal Dofasco Group Benefits programs.


Group Benefits

Manage day to day vendor performance and relationships to ensure all performance commitments are satisfied and that the Company is receiving a high level of customer service.

Provide administration advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of the group benefit plans to internal and external stake holders.

Ensure that all benefit plans are administrated appropriately within government regulations and in accordance with AM benefit policies

Contribute to the financial management of the group benefit plans by conducting detailed claims analysis.

Assist with the development and delivery of benefits education information through various channels (e.g. employee portal & group presentation).


Support the administration of Reward programs such as annual Merit Increases, Short-Term Incentive (STI) plan payouts, Spot Awards, Long-Term Incentive (LTI) plan payouts, and Executive Perquisites.

Assist with Market Intelligence activities including survey portfolio management – i.e. survey submissions, benchmark job matching, vendor management, and working in conjunction with HRIS and IT on data needs as applicable.

Support the employee moves process by contributing to total cash compensation analyses and job evaluations.

Process owner for the local administration of ArcelorMittal Global Mobility (expatriate) program as needed.

Work Environment:

Office environment with minimal plant exposure.

Hours of Work:

Normal hours of work are days, Monday to Friday, with extended hours as required to meet project deadlines or resulting from periods of peak workload.

Education and Accreditation:

Minimum university degree in Business or relevant field with 3-5 years of benefit experience is required, compensation or total rewards experience preferred.

Certified Employee Benefit Specialist or Certified Compensation Professional designation is an asset.

Skills & Knowledge:

Sound understanding of health and life insurance benefits underwriting principles.

Working knowledge of benefits administration practices and procedures.

Working knowledge of compensation fundamentals and HR policies and guidelines is required.

Proficient communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills are required.

Good organizational skills are required.
