Role Summary:

Group Retirement Services has several business growth initiatives underway. The Director, Business Development Initiatives will focus on growing our defined benefit plan investment only business and other high priority business growth initiatives in GRS. Business case development, building strong business performance metrics, solid project management & strong influence skills will all be in high demand for this business development leadership role. The role requires a blend of client & distribution channel interactions, combined with strong internal collaboration skills. Supporting sales activities (contributing to RFPs, working with regional business development directors, presenting to market intermediaries & prospective clients) and collaborating in product development are also critical elements.
Exigences:
Main Accountabilities:

• Translate a broad strategic plan to grow the DB investment only business into a multi-year business plan
• Develop key performance metrics which will assist in driving growth
• Collaborate on the development of an innovative suite of investments to meet the contemporary needs of small & medium sized DB & DB/DC combo pension plans
• Lead the assessment of existing services and plan, stage & direct required business platform changes
• Support market development & growth by working with the Sales Team, Client Relationships Team, Marketing & Product Pricing
• Direct interaction with clients, prospective clients & distribution channels
• Manage multiple projects involving collaboration with business partners including Operations, IT, Market Development & Finance
• Develop and lead market opportunity assessments for selected business growth opportunities
• Stay current on pension plan design, investments & de-risking strategies; use expertise on investment custody trends to influence product/service offering; develop & deploy knowledge of retirement income product/services

Competencies:

• Demonstrated expertise in pension plan investments (DB and DC) and custody
• Direct experience in supporting a B2B professional sales organization (RFPs, vendor evaluation meetings, distribution channels)
• Direct client relationship management experience
• Experience in business planning & analysis and product development
• Drives for action
• Experience in project management involving business deliverables across a matrix organization
• Strong research skills
• Confident communicator
• Comfortable managing complexity
• Collaborative work style

Frequent travel will be required.
