We are currently seeking a Lead, Pension & Benefits (P and B) who will provide expert strategic guidance and day to day leadership for the Pension and Benefits programs and administration team. Based in the national office site in Ottawa this position oversees the effective delivery of pension and benefit administration for 4500 + employees located in multiple sites across Canada. The terms of the position are flexible and may include permanent, full or part time or contract, depending on candidate expertise, availability and fit.

Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and direction to the pension and benefits team ,who manage and monitor the outsourced pension administrative services and the benefits administration activities.
• Resolve complex, unique and sensitive pension inquiries and issues.
• Develop, implement the pension and benefit programs and policies, ensuring up to date operations management and metrics are met and best practices are shared across the team.
• Provide expertise and guidance on complex pension issues to the VON Pension Committee and Board of Directors.
• Liaise with and develop effective customer service metrics and relationships with VON operational sites and functional departments.
Exigences:
• Post secondary degree with at least 5- 8 years experience in pension administration with or for a large national organization;
• Experience working as member of or consultant reporting to a pension committee;
• Experience managing complex in house or outsourced pension plans;
• Knowledge of the current trends and practices in pension regulation and administration, and benefit plan design;
• Proficient computer skills: MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to :
o Collaborate with individuals and teams in a professional and organized manner;
o Deliver customer service with a professional and friendly approach;
o Manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks, to meet the high demands and requirements of day-to-day operations;
o Lead a team of functional service providers, demonstrating highly developed communication and interpersonal skills; and,
o Take initiave and work independently with minimal supervision.
