Duties and responsibilities

Personal Benefit/Workplace Solution Product Sales & Marketing

  • Responsible for marketing and growth of personal benefits and workplace solution products.
  • Responsible for understanding the products being promoted and what client needs they satisfy.
  • Responsible for getting the data necessary to run campaigns on specific client groups who would benefits from specific products. (eg. Gather data on all retirees leaving a plan over age 70 for marketing purposes).
  • Work with product specialists, Regional Directors, Account Managers, Communications Department and others of important product updates and campaigns.
  • Work with product specialists to make sure product information is up-to-date and ensure products are being set-up and distributed properly.
  • Liaise with other Regional Associates and Communications Department on marketing and sales campaigns and generating promotional materials. (This includes print materials, webinars, presentations etc.)
  • Support Regional Directors with product support, and presentations related to personal benefits and workplace solutions. This includes on-site meetings where necessary.

Core Benefit Sales & Marketing

  • Connect with inactive advisors (advisors whom we have had no contact in past 12-18 months) and qualifying their current potential.
  • Establish and build relationships with advisors that are not the primary focus of Regional Directors.
  • Expand our network of partners both internally and externally.
  • Follow up on quote proposals (process to be determined based on individual region). Work with CORE team and Partnership Development teams to improve closing ratios and reach sales goals.
  • Responsible for working with Account Managers and Client Service Representatives to increase product sales to existing clients and development of sales reporting capacity as outlined below.

Administrative Functions & Regional Director Support

  • Help with planning and execution of events and meetings (BBD-U, Partner Forums, Sales Meetings etc.)
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and maintenance of the monthly sales report and annual ‘green line report’. Coordinate sales bonus payouts and reporting as part of sales and performance tracking.
  • Help with reporting, including ensuring accuracy and systems such as RD portal and CRM are functioning properly.
  • Help Regional Directors with advisor/employer meeting preparation materials.
  • Email advisors sales materials and respond to other inquiries. Monitor emails and calendars of Regional Directors as agreed upon.

Measure Results

Measure results through the sales report and other reporting that may develop for products
Develop goals and criteria for measuring success in sales volume for various products
Report findings in an understandable fashion

The Regional Associate position is designed to help expand the reach of BBD’s products with new and existing client relationships in a team-based environment. This role will have some focus around administrative assistance but will be centered around Personal Benefit, Core Benefit, Workplace Solution Product Sales & Marketing.

Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills with solid MS office and web skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Capable of performing well in a deadline-driven environment with cyclical work and frequent interruptions.
  • Positive attitude, strong team player and customer focused
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a group
  • Completion of the Life Licence Qualification Program (or in process)
  • Post-secondary education an asset
  • Requires  relevant work experience or equivalent in office or marketing role

Working conditions

This is an office-based role that requires flexibility and some travel. This is a full time role, 35 hours per week.

Physical requirements

Minimal lifting, working from a seated position for periods of time however, alternative desk options are available including treadmill and standing desks!
