Celebrating Excellence and Commitment On May 26, 2009 at a special ceremony organised at the CPBI FORUM 2009, the Institute’s Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Burk Humphrey, presented the National Volunteer of the Year Award. The CPBI Board of Directors has decided that Scott Sweatman will be the second recipient of the Award.
Scott Sweatman “The members of the CPBI who served with Scott Sweatman on the Pacific Regional Council and the Board of Directors consider him a mentor, a strong advocate for the CPBI, and a dynamic volunteer. His dedication to the CPBI’s mission and strategic objectives is second to none. I can think of no one more deserving of this award.” Scott first became involved with CPBI as a young lawyer and has been a CPBI member for more than 15 years. Scott served on the Pacific Region Council for a number of years before becoming Chair of the Pacific Region, a member of the CPBI Board of Directors and ultimately Chair of the Board in 2003-05. Throughout the years, Scott frequently volunteered to speak at conferences, breakfast sessions, conference workshops and continuing education sessions. With tremendous vision and dedication, Scott is a perfect example of the CPBI mission in action. |
