We are searching for a:

PROJECT COORDINATOR, HEALTH & WELLNESS

Our corporate office is seeking a Project Coordinator, Health & Wellness. As a part of the Human Resources team, this newly created position is responsible for creating and actioning both short and long term strategies to manage benefit cost containment and carry out employee health, wellness and productivity objectives. The incumbent will have involvement with employee benefits and labour relations, as well as sustainability through occupational health and safety initiatives. This position will require some travel to our North American operations.

Accountabilities:
• Analysis of cost and utilization data, trends and industry information regarding lost time and benefit consumption including quarterly reports to senior management and annual summary of results
• Development of an annual strategic plan in collaboration with HR and Sustainability managers, based on identified risks, opportunities, best practices and priorities
• Identify and leverage specific operational/geographic cost containment opportunities by working with local operational HR and Occupational Medicine
• Preparation and management of annual budget to support the annual cost containment plan
• Sourcing and management of providers engaged to support identified cost containment initiatives
• Conduct audits on 3rd party providers to ensure cost effective support for cost containment and health and wellness initiatives as well as those billing against company benefit plans
• Maintain effective, professional and open dialogue with internal management and staff in HR, Sustainability and Operations as well as local labour contacts, insurance carriers and external providers
• Coordination and oversight of health and wellness initiatives including development, implementation, outcome monitoring and impact assessment to quantify results across the North American operations
• Other special initiatives as required such as participation in the coordination and oversight of initial engagement survey, coordination and participation in wellness committees, subsequent action planning and biannual follow up

Requirements:
Education:
The ideal candidate will possess:

• A post secondary degree/diploma in Life/Health Sciences, Kinesiology or a related field

Experience:

• 5 years of similar experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Innovation and uses a creative approach to problem solving
• Strong communication skills
• Organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Exposure to the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong knowledge of the employer/employee benefits relationship
• Strong knowledge and exposure to employee wellness programs
• Previous experience in a unionized environment
