 Manager Benefits and Administration

Description:
The Manager Benefits and Administration is responsible for the administration of the pension plans in Manitoba, including a registered defined benefit plan, a registered defined contribution plan, and supplemental and executive defined benefit and defined contribution pension arrangements. This includes the provision of pension benefits to retirees and beneficiaries, interpretation of the plan documents, liaison with employees and retirees or beneficiaries, facilitating or co-facilitating information seminars, and coordinating communications to approximately 6700 employees, retirees and beneficiaries. This position is the prime contact for plan members, financial planners, external administrative service providers, and legal representatives regarding all pension matters as well as the prime contact for all group life insurance matters. This position is also responsible for the administration of group life, basic and voluntary accidental death and dismemberment benefits and retiree extended health care benefits.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Have a Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent, supplemented by a pension or benefits certificate or a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation and/or the equivalent work experience.
• Have a minimum of three to five years of administrative experience with defined benefit pension plans.
• Have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office productivity tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Have in depth knowledge of Manitoba and/or Federal pension legislation.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have previous supervisory experience.
• Have experience working in a team environment and communicating with external contacts in a manner that reflects positively on the reputation of the company.

To further enhance your eligibility you will:
• Have experience in preparing and delivering group presentations.
• Have experience preparing PowerPoint presentations.
• Have experience using human resource software programs such as SAP.
