 Disability Adjudicator / Case Manager

Disability Adjudicator / Case Manager – North Vancouver
OHI - Organizational Health Inc.

OHI works with organizations and their employees to create and sustain excellence in organizational and employee health.

Scope:
• Assess disability claims for completeness and appropriateness of information
• Determine entitlement to benefits and manage ongoing claims to resolution
• Coordinate with senior team members on complex claims

Requirements:
Skills required:

• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on communication with team members and care providers i.e. lay people to specialist physicians
• Caring, approachable, yet objective nature
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask – working on multiple files at one time while being independent and making decisions with minimal input
• Ability to adhere to established policies, guidelines and instructions
• Ability to determine facts needed and develop pertinent sources
• Ability to interview claimants to obtain factual information needed to make decisions
• Conflict management/problem solving skills
• Some knowledge of medical terminology and effect of varied disabilities
• Ability to work as a team member within an interdisciplinary environment
• Ability to prepare clear and concise written communication
• Computer basic knowledge & experience - MS Office, Word, Excel, Internet, email
• Some data entry and intake duties may be required
• Some flexibility in work hours may be required

Education/ Experience required:

• Post-secondary education or experience in business or health related field
• Previous experience working with EI, WCB, STD, CPP, LTD
• Previous experience in insurance and/or benefits administration
• Knowledge or course in medical terminology would be beneficial
