The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is a not-for-profit, professional organization of over 13,000 teachers employed in PreK-12 publicly funded schools across the province who are trusted and respected leaders and partners in education. The Federation has inspired and supported teaching and learning excellence in public education for more than 80 years.

We are currently seeking a new director to provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Retirement Plan (STRP). The STRP is a target benefit plan established to provide retirement benefits to Plan participants. The director provides support to the amalgamated STF Pension and Benefit Board of Directors (board) with strategic planning, funding and benefits, risk management, governance and policy development as it relates to the STRP.

The director will oversee all aspects of the pension plan, including human resources, communications, valuations, budget and planning, governance, financial management, funding and benefit policies, plan administration, risk and compliance management and any other duties necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the pension plan.

The successful applicant will have an undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce, finance or related field plus a minimum of seven years of directly related and progressive pension experience. The incumbent must have a strong conceptual and working knowledge of board governance structures and processes.
