As part of our Communications and Client Services team, the Manager plays a leadership role in ensuring that our plan members and other stakeholders are provided with up to date, accurate and clear information to support their understanding of their benefits and their effective plan participation. The Manager, Communications and Clients Services position is a hands-on role that provides opportunities to shape and support a broad range of communication and client service needs, including:
• Overseeing a team of seven Communications staff, including training, scheduling, managing individual performance, fostering a team atmosphere and ensuring that quality, quantity and deadline requirements are met by the team.
• Creating and/or reviewing new communications materials, including website content, plan booklets, seminar information, newsletters, standard and customized letters and online services.
• Participating with other members of the CSSB management team as a member of the Policy and Practice Committee. This Committee reviews administrative practices and special cases, and creates or revises policies relating to the administration of the plans under the Board’s care. 
• Responding to complaints regarding service and preparing responses to highly sensitive or complex inquiries related to the plan.
• Providing support to other areas of the organization regarding the provision of benefit entitlement information to plan members, and to participating employers regarding their benefit administration responsibilities.

Salary for this position is approximately $80,000 to $95,000, depending on qualifications.

The Skills We Need:
• CEBS designation or similar employee benefits education.
• Considerable experience in the areas of benefit administration and communication, preferably in the area of defined benefit pensions.
• Experience leading a team.  
• Commitment to quality, attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to various group sizes and the ability to communicate in a straight forward and professional manner.
• A solid knowledge of pension and insurance benefits and of related legislation, policies and developments in the field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Windows.
• The ability to communicate in French would be an asset. 
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
