As a valuable member of the investments team, the Investment Analyst is responsible for providing accurate and timely analytics and investment research support to the investment team. The Investment Analyst is also responsible for supporting the Director of Public Investments and the Director of Investment Strategy and Risk in analysing and reporting on investment manager performance, managing investment service provider relationships, monitoring the Plan’s performance and risk, and providing support to the Chief Investment Officer.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will possess a post-secondary degree in finance, business administration, economics, commerce, actuarial science or a related field supplemented by four or more years of relevant experience. A combination of equivalent education, training and experience will be considered. To succeed in this position, you will have or are working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and will have a thorough knowledge of technical theory related to financial management, capital markets, securities analysis and portfolio management. Sound technical knowledge of defined benefit plan provisions and funding principles and relevant pension legislation and regulation is considered an asset.

You have demonstrated strong research, analytical and writing skills and can exercise a high-degree of initiative and good judgement. You will also have knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and computer systems as they relate to investment management functions and are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. You can work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation and with external service providers.

Salary Range: $74,674 to $93,342 (based on qualifications and skills)
